With sporting events on pause for the next few weeks, what better time to upgrade your garage storage! We know exactly how crazy trying to store everyone’s gear can be. Our design experts at More Space Place Orlando are here to help with some useful tips for storing sports equipment in your garage.
The difficulty in storing all your family sports equipment is that everything seems to be different shapes and sizes! Bikes, skis, shoes, balls, the list goes on! This is where the strategy comes in. How do you find a place for all your sports equipment?
Cubbies
We love to recommend cubbies for families! Each kid is often playing a different sport and that makes it hard to keep track of things that are specific to them. Labeling a cubby with their name is a great way to keep all of their smaller sports equipment all in one place! Cleats, gloves, shinguards, hats, and anything else you can think of will all go in one place for each person.
Custom Garage Shelving Systems
While most garages come in a few different shapes and sizes, we know that they’re also filled with everything you can think of! That’s why we’ve found custom garage shelving systems to be such an efficient and easy storage strategy. Based on the sports you play, we can design and install exactly the storage system you need to keep everything organized. Whether it’s biking, skiing, kayaking, or any other sport that has awkwardly shaped gear.
You shouldn’t have to deal with an unorganized garage just because your gear doesn’t fit into cookie-cutter storage systems.
Slat Wall System
One of the most underrated storage strategies is the slat wall system! This is perfect for setting up hooks for your bikes, wall mounted shelving, and almost any other wall hanging storage system you can think of. We always recommend that you keep your gear off the floor. The last thing you want is to be tripping over gear every time you are in your garage!
