It’s time for kids to return to school now that summer is ending! As a parent, getting ready to take your kids back to school after months of summer vacation can be difficult.

The beginning of a new school year is an exciting yet chaotic time. Here are some back-to-school suggestions to make sure your child is ready for yet another academic year in Orlando, Florida.

Stock Some Snacks

Kids seem to be constantly hungry. Therefore, snacks are essential. Instead of trying to control the snack situation, consider having designated snack zones in the refrigerator and pantry. This would make everyone’s lives easier.

Get healthy snacks in bulk, pour them into go-to storage bins, and let the kids have what they want. Don’t know where to start? Here are a few tips to help:

  •  Place clear bins in the pantry at your children’s eye level for easy access. These are excellent for items like protein bars, yogurt, and popcorn
  • Use divided spin trays on the bottom shelf of your refrigerator to keep fresh foods.
  •  The pull-out drawers in your refrigerator are ideal for fruits, cheeses, and olives in a jar.

Design a Focused Space for Homework

Kids need a special spot at home where they can finish their schoolwork after a long day at school. This area should ideally be silent and free of distractions. It shouldn’t be close to common areas like your dining area or living room. Consider getting high-quality storage furniture from More Space Place. Your kids will have more fun with their homework if they are comfortable and organized.

Create a Back-to-School Checklist

Your child has to show up to school with all the necessary supplies. Thankfully, most teachers provide you with a list of the materials required for the entire year. There are many internet resources with common supplies for every school year as well.

If you don’t get the checklist from your child’s school, create a list of every item your child might require for a productive school year. You and your child can have fun making this list.

Enjoy the Remaining Summer Days

While you may have difficulty preparing for the back-to-school season, you must enjoy the Florida summer while it lasts. The period following summer camp and before the start of the school year passes by so fast that occasionally, we fail to savor the final days.

Take advantage of the last few weeks before everyone in the house must wake up earlier than usual. Having some  fun before doing homework is once more a daily chore, and before you must start juggling your schedule like a magician.

Are you preparing for back-to-school season in Florida? While it may be stressful, there are plenty of ways to make it easier. Returning your child to school can be seamless if you prepare and start planning early. Take advantage of the above tips and enjoy the experience.
